My comic, “Illegal Alien” is a satirical work that focuses on the literal use of the legal term “alien” and how it contributes to dehumanizing language when applied to real people who migrate. When I present both a human migrant and a literal extraterrestrial being they are confused under the same label. My comic highlights how the terminology reduces a human being to a category rather than recognizing their humanity.
