Imagine this: You’re trying to make quick and easy money out of your RV with your uncle and suddenly you get busted and have to go on the run. But you’re now alone because your uncle has been arrested.
Well you don’t really have to imagine because this is exactly what happens at the start of the simulator game Schedule 1. Schedule 1, made by TVGS, is a somewhat realistic action packed game about selling everything you can to get by. You start small and work your way up until
Its an open world game that has a GTA type of feeling. The setting is in a town with graffiti, addicts, and other sellers walking and scattered around the map. The characters are regular NPCs with some that are more memorable than others. Both the characters and map fit the aesthetic of the game and can make someone feel like they are in the game.
The game starts off with an accident with the police which makes you have to go on the run and leave your uncle behind. Luckily in prison he could contact you and with his help you had to make crazy money.
The art style of the game is cartoony with a dark washed color to it. It doesn’t really fit the theme but the way the game was designed made the colors fit really well with the theme of the game. The characters and environment do have really good details like tattoos on certain NPCs and making them live in the environment they fit. The game never feels boring because there’s always something going on with the characters and the environment because of its open world. The game just overall feels smooth and consistent.
The soundtrack of the game matches the aesthetic of the game exactly. It gives off a relaxed and chill tone which matches the entire game. The whole game gives a calm tone because of how quiet it is; there’s not that many sound effects because of its chill gameplay. There aren’t any voice actors yet but it’s cool to think about the games future and how the game could get popular to the point where they hire voice actors.
The controls are very basic which is great for people who are just starting to play games. There are really cool game mechanics like being able to make your own product with the click and drag which really puts the player in the game. There is also a punch mechanic which does exactly what you think and you’re able to punch everyone in game which also affects your sales and customers. There’s also a smoke mechanic which makes it so you can use your product and see how it affects your character. The game is pretty easy but there are some challenges like the pick pocketing in the game and when you progress in the game you unlock more abilities like better product and new locations.
Overall I think Schedule 1 is a great game with a promising future because of its simplicity and creativity. I hope the game becomes something even bigger.
