Homelessness is a major crisis in our city. It impacts so many people on a daily basis.
During our work for our Collective Action Project, we felt it important to raise awareness about homelessness in New York.
We found that homelessness doesn’t just affect the people going through it but the whole community—the health care resources stretched and the safety of neighborhoods are also affected.
The idea behind our Collective Action Project is something small can still bring about change. Thus this poster was made sharing important locations and hotline numbers so people can use them or pass them along to those in need.
This was the school project we had to raise awareness about the social issues and we felt connected to this one.
We also put the poster up in different places in our school because we think that even a simple poster with useful information can make some change. Maybe whoever sees it also feels a little less alone or will go out and get the help they need.
All of the work that we put into it was in the hope that this would happen and that progress can be made on this important issue.
