Delta Force: Hawk Ops is a free to play, tactical shooter by Level Infinite and Team Jade. Hawk Ops is the 10th release in the franchise. This game has a lot of similarities to Rainbow 6, Battlefield and Escape From Tarkov. The immersive gameplay and realistic sound design were so impressive that it converted me from a console gamer to a PC gamer.
Deltaforce has three different game modes. Warfare, Operations and the Black Hawk Down campaign. The main game mode I am going to talk about is “Warfare Large PvP ”. Warfare is a 32 vs 32 tactical shooter, and it is jam-packed with chaos. It’s chaotic because of how packed it is with the map design and the movement they did.
The main objective is to control different sectors of the map. If you are on the attacking side, you need to take over different sectors – but be cautious: you have limited lives. With each sector you capture, you become stronger and gain more lives. If you are on the defending side, you need to keep the attackers from capturing. However, if you lose a sector, you become weaker. You can build barricades of sandbags to hold off enemy lines and keep the attackers from winning. The defenders have to be more cautious because the attackers can use the vehicles to go deep into enemy territory and flank all lines of defense.
The graphic settings on Delta Force: Hawk Ops are highly customizable. I play on ultra which includes ray tracing and 4K textures. Resolution can be adjusted to maximize framerate. When resolution is maximized, the attention to detail is more noticeable. Individual raindrops gather on the sight of your weapon and shake off and evaporate when you shoot. The small details add to the overall realism of the game. I say the graphics feel very advanced, because of the use of ray tracing. Advanced lighting mimics real world lighting and reflections. For example, in destroyed buildings you can see dust particles and on the ground.
This game is easy to pick up if you are familiar with First- Person shooters. It is very similar to every tactical shooter. But there are a couple of features I like that make the game unique. The first mechanic is the leaning. It has a lot of similarities with Rainbow 6, but it is a little bit slower to fully learn.
The next mechanic is to hold your breath. At first the gun recoil is all over the place but if you put attachments on your weapons it will help a little bit. But when you hold your breath it makes it so your character focus on Aiming to the recoil is a lot less. There is a 5 second timer that makes it so your soldier will be out of breath. This mechanic feels amazing so you can engage with enemies from over 50 Meters. I highly recommend using the m4 because how they are made is so if you put the correct attachments and hold your breath it is easy to eliminate players from a distance. But if you are a gun while guy uses the mp7 and you could wipe out people from a close range but the damage drop off is crucial against the open maps.
The overall performance for Delta Force is good. For me I have a RTX 4070 And it runs very smoothly. When I was playing I didn’t crash a single time which is surprising for modern games. Most of these games are very rushed and not optimized. The FPS doesn’t drop randomly most of the time it is stable and smooth. When I was playing, my Fps was around 240 to 320. That is because I have frame generation but without the ai Frames i run a smooth 160 fps on 1080p. But I feel like it got a lot better now because in season 3 I believe the game runs smoother with a higher fps which is always a good thing. For high to medium settings. If you want to run the game with maxed out graphics i think you will run 60-90 fps. If you are a performance type of person I will lower my graphics to medium for the smother your game will run. If you have a worse GPU I believe you still are running good frame rates. If you have a very modern GPU I would recommend higher graphics because you don’t want to bottleneck your cpu and GPU. For any GPU remember to Update your drivers to get the most performance.
Sound and audio design help create immersion and atmosphere. Previous games in the Delta Force series were praised for sound design that is both immersive and realistic. The attention to detail in the weapons sounds, like the metallic clang of bullet casings dropping on the floor, add to the immersion and realism. The use of ambient noises, like fighter jets or tanks firing in the distance, help shape the environment. Hawk Ops is the first game in the series to utilize spatial audio, which made me feel like I was on the battlefield. The 360 audio allows the player to know where other players are located based on the surrounding sounds.
After 10 years since the last Delta Force, Hawk Ops stands out because of the core features like upgraded graphics like raytracing, the leaning, holding your breath In a world with so many first person shooters, Delta Force stands out with a high level of polish. The developers spent 10 years making the game, proving their commitment to “quality over quantity.”
