On February 11, 2025 and February 19, 2025, Manchester City and Real Madrid played against each other in a Champions League match-up that would result in one team going into the final 16 in the Champions League.

The game was a big deal because this was the 5th time this game has happened since the 2019 – 2020 Champion League. Many legendary moments have happened: Real Madrid made a historic comeback against Manchester City in the 2022 Champion League Semi Final, Manchester City destroyed Real Madrid in the 2023 Champions League Semi Final, and the Quarter Final Champion League match in the 2024 where both teams did a penalty shootout, this season it is happening again. 

The game was important, as many people, especially at HS223, love watching Real Madrid vs Manchester City.  “It was worth watching!” said Sean Morales (Class of 2028).

Mr Serrano says, “Madrid is always better.” ”In my opinion it was a mistake,” said Steven. 

This just shows that many people at 223 are really interested in watching the game. 

Real Madrid advanced 6-3 on aggregate.

After watching the game we asked our interviewees who they thought the best player throughout both matches was.

While some said Bellingham, Steven Garcia (Class of 2028) says, “Mbappe because he scored a beautiful goal in the 1st Leg, then Scored a Hat Trick after making the Man City Defender his baby.”

The game was a big deal in the Champions League, and for the HS223 community alike.
